Who We Are

Ayiti CiviqueLab is a civic innovation organization that empowers everyday people and works alongside local municipalities to co-create public solutions. We create spaces for community organizers, civil society actors, youth leaders, and local officials to build trust, share knowledge, and prototype civic change together.

Our Promise

Building the tables where Haiti's future gets decided

Born and raised in Haiti, Kim’s life was profoundly shaped by the 2010 earthquake, a moment that ignited his mission to help rebuild not only physical infrastructure but also systems of trust, dialogue, and collaboration. His work bridges communities across Haiti and the United States, designing spaces where everyday people can meaningfully participate in shaping their futures.

Kim holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida, where his research focused on public deliberation, national dialogue, and social capital in fragile democracies. A recognized leader in civic innovation, he is a member of the Coalition for Inclusive Dialogue in Haiti, the Public Innovators Network powered by the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation, and a recipient of the Taylor L. Willingham Legacy Fund Scholarship from the National Issues Forums for his contributions to deliberative democracy.

Before launching Ayiti CiviqueLab full-time, Kim served as the Economic Development Director for the City of Johns Creek, Georgia, once named the #1 Best Place to Live in the United States, where he led initiatives to strengthen local economies and foster inclusive growth. He has also held roles with the cities of Stockbridge, Wilton Manors, and Orlando, as well as the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. In addition, Kim served as an adjunct professor of public administration at Clayton State University, mentoring the next generation of civic leaders.

Ayiti CiviqueLab represents the culmination of that journey, a civic hub where citizens and local governments come together to co-create solutions, solve pressing challenges, and restore democratic life from the ground up.

A Haiti powered by its people — where democratic participation fuels progress, local creativity drives solutions, and civic life is a collective journey forward.
